I believe controlling our emotions is very important in our life and plays a major role in our success. The person who has control over his or her emotions is somewhere successful.
Most of us make wrong decisions because we don’t have control over our emotions. We don’t think with our brain, we think with our emotions. For example, when someone is angry, they often react based on that emotion. When someone is sad, their thoughts are clouded by sadness.
So stop letting your emotions control your decisions. Use your brain instead.
Heart vs. Brain: Who Should You Listen To?
People often ask should I listen to my heart or my brain? Some say always follow your heart, others say trust your brain. I was in the same stage too. But then I figured this out this:
“Listen to your heart what it truly wants, then think about it using your brain, not emotions. Ask yourself: Will this decision be good for me? Will this decision help me in the future, or will I regret it later?
For example, your heart may want peace. But peace means different things to different people: for some, it’s money, for others, it’s love, power, or family. But what’s yours? So take time to think about what peace truly means to you.
Final Thought
When you use both your heart and brain together, you will start making the right decisions. Let me give you an example:
Imagine I ask you to lift 50 kg with one hand. Most people can’t do it. But if I ask you to lift it using both hands, many of you can, it becomes easier. The same goes for your heart and brain. If you use only one, life feels harder. But when you use both, it gets much easier.
So, better use both. That’s how you grow.
